The JR2/2+ is a premium dual-channel microphone preamp designed for absolute transparency, extremely low noise, and uncompromising build quality. Each channel combines high-current phantom power with a direct signal path free of capacitors and transformers, ensuring perfectly linear phase and frequency response down to zero hertz, preserving resolution and openness without coloration or low-end roll-off. Every channel features its own regulated +50V phantom supply, delivering independent power as if each microphone had its own external source. Carefully matched components guarantee outstanding balance, maximum noise rejection, and ultra-clean signal integrity.
JR2/2+ delivers extremely low noise, massive headroom, and precise gain control via a 24-step rotary switch covering +7.5 to +65 dB, with channel matching within ±0.1 dB. With such headroom and precision, there is no need for pads. Outputs include a balanced XLR main out, capable of driving long cables and difficult loads, plus a separately buffered TRS auxiliary out for added routing flexibility.
Compared to the standard JR2/2, the JR2/2+ adds two key features:
High Pass filters to remove unwanted low frequencies and rumble, +15 dB Gain Boost switches for extra signal level when needed, such as with very quiet microphones or sources.
The JR2/2+ is ideal for all microphone types – from sensitive condensers to dynamics and ribbons – and represents a reference standard for dual-channel preamps with extended functionality.
