Amphion Two18X represents the next evolutionary step of the iconic Two18 – Amphion’s flagship studio monitor that has maintained an exceptional reputation among top engineers worldwide for more than a decade. Designed primarily for larger control rooms and demanding professional environments, this modern reference monitor is renowned for its outstanding precision. The X variant introduces a major technological advancement in the form of a newly developed, extremely linear tweeter with ultra-low distortion and a redesigned crossover network. The result is higher resolution, improved transient clarity, extended frequency range, and an unusually tangible, almost three-dimensional spatial image.
Thanks to point-source radiation, exceptional phase coherence, and time-aligned drivers, the Two18X delivers precise stereo imaging and a high level of confidence that mixes will translate reliably across any playback system. The DSP-free design ensures maximum signal purity and full compatibility with external converters and room-correction solutions. Compared to smaller models, the Two18X offers greater acoustic output, increased dynamic headroom, and improved low-frequency control, while maintaining clarity even at lower listening levels. The X variant further provides radically reduced distortion, improved linearity, and enhanced robustness, including easy replacement of the tweeter voice coil.
Structurally, the Two18X is a two-way passive monitor with passive radiators, featuring a 1″ titanium tweeter and dual 6.5″ aluminum woofers.
