Knif Eksa is a versatile dual-channel class A audio equalizer intended for audio mastering and mixing applications. While inspired by the legendary Sontec, Eksa is actually substantially modi#ed and more complex. Eksa, unlike the classic designs of the past, allows noise and wideband gain to be virtually independent of Q setting. Eksa is equipped with MS encoding and decoding and the circuit consists of no less than 28 Knif class-A discrete operational ampli#ers. The band gain range is adjusted in 23 steps and the range can be switched between ±4.5 dB or ±9 dB. Each band consists of 24 discrete frequencies controlled by an Elma rotary control. These state-of-the-art switches are the default choice for all Knif equipment. All switching on the PCB is executed hermetically by subminiature relays with gold plated contacts (100 pcs per each channel) and all capacitors in the #lter circuits are polypropylene. Eksa is available in two versions: Eksa(3U) and Eksa F (4U), with the latter featuring added gain adjustment and low-pass and high-pass #lters with selectable slopes and elliptic #ltering capability. The #ve band equalizer is identical in both versions. Both models utilize an external linear power supply.
